The Race is Over!
It has been two days since I finished my half marathon. All told from Jan 1 2005 to April 3 2005 I ran 200 miles. The whole time people have asked me why I would want to run a half marathon. To be honest, I don't know that I did want to run a half marathon. You can tell from the pictures below I was pretty happy when i was finished, as well as tired. But I do not know really why I wanted to train that much or run that far. I think I might want to do another one some time...so I must have enjoyed it to some degree. The race itself didn't seem as long as some of my training runs simply because it was all new ground, it was all about running one mile at a time and taking in the sights! I finished the race in around 2:13:00 my goal was two minutes faster than that, but I can't say that I was disappointed by my time. I just can't believe I ran for over two hours to be honest! It is two days after the race now and I am sick, my body is beat...I just feel run down and a little sad. When you train that long for something it is weird to get up the next day and not really have to do anything. Don't get me wrong all my eggs were not in one basket...I don't find my identity in my running as I used to in soccer, it is just weird to not have to train if I don't want to.

I guess that means I'm likely to do one sometime, since I don't really want to.
